Program Overview
The Kyonggi University IOIE Korean Language Program emphasizes real-life Korean communication and academic preparation. Through small-group classes, experienced instructors, and a structured 6-level curriculum, students can develop comprehensive listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and gain cultural experience essential for life in Korea.

Completion Requirements
- Attendance: At least 80% of total class hours
- Grades:
- Levels 1–4: Overall grade of C (70 points) or higher
- Levels 5–6: At least 60 points per subject + overall C or higher
Ineligibility to Register for Next Term
- If attendance falls below 60%
- If the same level is failed three times

Application fee (120,000 KRW) is non-refundable. If visa is denied and cancellation is requested before the first day of class, full tuition (excluding application fee) will be refunded.

Application instructions for international students applying to the Kyonggi University Institute of International Education (IOIE) Korean Language Course. Please review the eligibility, required documents, application procedure, tuition and contact information below.
1. Eligibility
- Foreign nationals and overseas Koreans who have graduated from high school or have equivalent academic qualifications
- Applicants who can provide officially certified proof of highest academic background (Apostille or consular confirmation if required)
- Applicants who have no restrictions for studying or residing in Korea
- Applicants for a D-4 visa must register for at least 2 terms at once
⚠️ Important Notes
- Vietnam, Mongolia, Uzbekistan nationals: Required to register for all 4 terms (1 year) at the time of application.

2. Application Procedure
- Fill out the online application form
Submit the application form via the Kyonggi University IOIE website. - Pay the application fee
Pay the application fee of 50,000 KRW (non-refundable). - Submit original documents
Mail or submit in person the required documents to the IOIE Korean Language Course Office.

Takes about 1–2 weeks after document arrival. - Announcement of successful applicants
Results can be checked online. - Tuition payment
Pay tuition by the deadline announced for each term. - Issuance of Certificate of Admission

Level 1 Regular Korean Course Curriculum (Beginner 1)
This introductory level is designed for students who are learning Korean for the first time. Learners start with Hangul (Korean alphabet) and gain the ability to understand and express very basic Korean needed in everyday life.
1. Learning Objectives
- Read and write Hangul accurately and understand basic pronunciation rules.
- Communicate using basic expressions for greetings, self-introduction, daily activities, and simple purchases.
- Create basic sentences using beginner-level grammar and approximately 800 core vocabulary items.
- Understand and express simple information such as numbers, time, and dates.
- Read and write short and practical sentences used in everyday life.
