MNU Korean Language Program Application Guidelines
This guide is for students applying to the Korean language program at Mokpo National University. Please review the eligibility requirements, application procedure, required documents, and tuition information carefully before submitting your application.
1. Eligibility Requirements
- A foreigner or overseas Korean who is a high school graduate or has acquired an equivalent level of education
- A person who has completed a minimum of 10 years of regular school education
- Those currently enrolled in high school must submit a certificate of expected graduation
- Applicants must be able to provide all required documentation
- Applicants with no disqualifying reasons for studying in Korea or attending Korean language classes

Level 1 Korean Language Course Curriculum (Basic Level)
This is an introductory course designed for complete beginners who are studying Korean for the first time. Students will learn basic Korean pronunciation and Hangul (Korean alphabet), and practice essential expressions and simple sentence structures needed in everyday life.
1. Learning Objectives
- Master Hangul reading and writing, including consonants, vowels, and basic pronunciation rules
- Carry out very simple everyday communication such as greetings, self-introductions, and basic shopping
- Create simple sentences using fundamental grammar patterns and approximately 800 essential vocabulary words
- Understand and express basic information such as numbers, time, dates, and locations
- Read and write short, simple sentences and messages in Korean
